Living legend, Broadway powerhouse and five-time Tony nominee September L. Davis begins her “Apology Tour”, a theatrical experience that begs the question: can an insufferable diva redeem herself and become a decent human being, at least enough to work again and possibly win awards?

September L. Davis endured a difficult year featuring ongoing addiction issues, a messy public feud with the Tony-nominated “Schmigadoon” actress Ana Gasteyer, and an onstage accident resulting in a harrowing three-minute death. That accident is now the subject of an active attempted murder investigation in Canada. When asked to make a list of people who might want her dead, September’s list reached into the thousands. After years of avoidance, September finally faced the difficult question: “Is it me?” And so, “The Apology Tour” was born. A confessional musical retrospective that seeks redemption and forgiveness for past behavior, while also hopefully thwarting further murder attempts. And maybe help win some awards. But let’s be very clear — it’s predominantly about redemption and doing the work in a very public way.

“The Apology Tour” invites celebrity guests, who September has wronged in the past, back for a night of apologies, memories and music. It’s an over-the-top love letter to all things Broadway, from stunt casting to cancel culture to the colorful personalities that make musical theater both joyful and, at times, challenging. In the end, it’s a sharp, absurd meditation on how we make amends and forgive in a cultural moment where neither seems to be trending

Will there be audience participation?

Yes – The Apology Tour is a shared transformative experience that involves some members of the audience. Participation is not required. If you are willing and comfortable being a part of the show, please do consider it an honor. If you are not chosen, it is because Miss Davis finds you triggering. If this is the case, avoid direct eye contact with her while experiencing the wonder of the Apology Tour.

Should I warm up before the show?

It is not necessary, but will probably be appreciated by your fellow audience members to come warm.

How long is the show?

1 hour 30 minutes depending on length and quality of applause.

Intermission info: There will not be an intermission but ample time to purchase cocktails before the show. So come early and stay late. But of course, not in the theater. You must leave Studio Seaview when our life-changing time together concludes.

Is photography or filming allowed?

There will be no photography or filming allowed. Unless you can guarantee it will go viral. If your cell phone makes noise of any kind or is visible to any of our security team, it will be confiscated, you will never see it again, and you will be detained backstage until the end of the show, at which point you will be asked to apologize to the entire theater. You will be responsible for all associated costs incurred from this delay, theater rental fees, insurance costs and overtime for concessions vendors. Lastly, your image will also be included in a viral wall of shame that could potentially destroy your life and career. This is not a joke, so please behave accordingly and with great reverential deference to the fact that you are in a theater, which in this instance, is a sacred space.

Age recommendation or content advisory: The Apology Tour contains blessings, primal screams, and healing through group song (when prompted).

Accordingly, this public display of deeply personal self-examination may include strobes, haze, mature themes and extreme off-color language. Please bring an open heart and an open mind.
